    footings for cony

    Postby vibetime » Tue Nov 02, 2010 4:50 pm

    hi all,
is it viable to concrete over a plastic drain pipe spanning the width of my trench ?
have same problem with electric cable duct in two places also ?
moving is not an option really to either as involves masses of extra labour
i want to trench fill so cant bridge with lintels either.
been told to wrap in insulation and just pour away , but can it be reinforced around the ducts/pipe with steel mesh somehow ?
    thanks for any help

you must have concrete under the pipe excavate a trench under the pipe 450mm under the pipe and encase the pipe in concrete if the pipe is visible above the concrete once its laid you must bridge it with a lintol. As for the electric cable ducting you can just concrete over it,the ducting will protect the cable
