Fridge freezer stopped working - diagnosis advice needed

Hi,

We have an integrated Neff Fridge Feezer which is 18 years old. It stopped cooling yesterday.

The power is getting to it OK (interior light on). Every few minutes a humming noise starts and then this stops after 5 seconds or so. It appears that something is trying to start but cuts out before it does.

I turned the power off last night and left it overnight. Switched on this morning and same problem.

Can anyone advise what the problem may be?
