    galvanised mains pipe

    i have galvanised feed pipes to my kitchen which have no independant stop cocks they convert to copper pipe to go to sink taps, can i use pipe freeze kit on galv pipe to fit stop cock on copper pipes

    Certainly the freeze kit will form a slug of ice in the pipes but whether they will remain in place is another matter - the inside of the pipe is likely to have a thick coating of rust and limescale (if you are in a hard water area) and this could be a nice lubricated weak point.
    Turn off the mains in the road and look for a stopcock in the hot water system if necessary.
