gap above door frame and under concrete lintel

    Postby desperado » Fri Jan 25, 2008 5:55 pm

We have recently knocked though a new doorway. We now have a gap between the yop of the new door frame and below the concrete lintel. The gap is about 2 inches. How would the gap be filled prior to plastering??? Help!

    Hi desperado,
A few different ways to do this you could slide a bit of timber between the frame and the lintel, fixing it up through the door frame leaving enough room to fix a strip of plasterboard either side.
You could pack it out with plasterboard laying them flat above door and filling out one side and waiting for it to cure before doing the other side,
Fill it in with compo or browning.
    Good Luck
