garage electrics project

looking to have general electrics in garage for diy hobbies and the like
tube lighting say x 4, and couple of sockets for power tools
it has been suggested armoured cable feed from adjacent house some 17 meters total length of 4mm 3 core cable
What other items needed so they are available for contractor prior too

your partp leckie will also need gland kit, a 'garage unit' con.unit with rcd/mcb's of 16A & 6A usually, plus a spare mcb for house end con.unit .
plus some swa cable cleats, but I will be surprised if you find someone willing to install stuff you have purchased, I wouldn't as if a fault develops who is responsible? further although your cable sizing seems abt right for expected load and distance to house what abt the run from supply? volt drop on that will affect the swa size.
He might compromise by letting you run cable as time = money but he will be signing test certs & LAbdg control docs. saying he has done whole job....
