I have a brick built detached garage, and shortly will be changing the garage door.
It would be usefull if I could raise the height of the lintel.
Firstly as it's gable ended, is the triangle of brickwork above the door structural ie is it supporting the pitched roof .
Secondly, if I raise the lintel by 300mm this now puts the top of the lintel 150mm above the top of the side walls - is this a problem?
