Gas in the area?

by Howlor » Tue Nov 13, 2007 8:40 pm

Hi newbie question I am afraid folks,

Currently we have an oil system that is all about 16 years old so will need a new tank and boiler fairly soon.

I want to try and find out how close gas comes to our property as we are semi rural but about half a mile down the road there are more properties and some industry that I am sure have gas!

Are there any utility maps to download etc as I could also do to find the nearest sewer as well.

Thanks,
Steve

Steve,

An obvious answer I guess, but have you asked British Gas if the supply is close enough to your property to make the supply a feasible proposition?

Regards, Graham.

The gas Utility, Transco, quoted a friend of mine £4000 to run a pipe about 50 metres to extend the nearest line to supply him.
