Gas Light Maintentance

I need to replace the mantles on my outdoor gas light, and must shut off the gas (per installation instructions) Is there a shut off on the lamp itself. The one inside the home is very difficult to reach.

Depends on the model. And I'll be honest, if your main gas shut-off is that difficult to reach, you should create better access!! What on earth would you do if you had a leak??
