    Gas meter outside.

    Hi all,

Moved in to a new house recently and the Gas meter housing outside is looking slightly more than in need of tidying up. It functions absolutely fine but looks atrocious. Is it ok to paint them (Is it permissable) if so do I need to use any specific paint type, or will bog standard gloss do?

It looks like it's made out of fibre glass if that helps, I've tried giving it a ruddy good scrub but to no avail.

Any help or advice that anyone can provide will be gratefully appreciated indeed, With thanks,

    Matt (bodget&co.)

The gas company do not own the meter housing (they do own the meter) you do.

So you can paint it any colour you like.

Clean up with a wire brush, apply a good undercoat, then gloss or exterior paint will bring the box up well.

Apologies for my rather ignorant lateness in responding to the messages. Thanks guys, it's much appreciated. I haven't been on here for a while & just thought I would check in to find "replies" to my questions.

Thanks again dudes, it's greatly appreciated,

    Matt
