Glazing directly into stone

Post by Pennine Rob » Mon Aug 13, 2007 2:45 pm

Some of my fixed windows in this 250 year old house are set directly into the stone mullions.

Recent (20 years plus) fixing method has been "Trowelling Mastic", but I am wondering if one of the many different silicone or acrilic sealants would be better.

I also wonder which grade of trowelling mastic would be best.

The stone is "millstone grit"

Thanks

Rob
