Glossy coating for external facebrick

by bcnbuilder » Sat May 26, 2007 4:18 pm

I have chocolate brown facebrick which was painted with some kind of transparent glossy sealant. This surface is now starting to slough and flake off in an unsightly way on the most exposed areas of brick.

Help please:

1. The best way to remove the flaking layers
2. Any priming I should perform on the brick
2. The type of product I should be using to reapply a gloss coating

Thanks to you all!
Hugs etc.

See our projects on paint stripping and artex removal, contact the makers of these products as one of them will take of the sealer. Then see our project on waterproofing external masonry for great products to reseal.
