Glow Worm 30CXi pressure problems

Post by quickshaun » Sat Apr 05, 2008 5:07 pm

Hi my 30cxi has suddenly started losing pressure it takes around 36 hours for the pressure to drop from 1 bar to 0.

I have checked all the accessible joints under my floor and I haven't noticed any water marks in my ceilings.

What I have noticed is that the pressure doesn't seem to rise above 1 bar even after I have had the heating on for some time.

Also there is no water escaping from the 'blow off' pipe outside.

I would be grateful for any advice on the problem.

Thanks in advance.

If the pressure definately doesn't rise
and there's no leaks from the pressure relief discharge pipe then it points to a leak somewhere in the system.

Is this a condensing boiler ?

The secondary heat-ex sometimes splits and you can lose the pressure via the condensate discharge pipework. Hard to diagnose though - as when the boiler is on there'll be water coming from the exhaust gases.

If the boiler is under warranty - get the manufacturers out
