Granite tile over Quarry tile on doorstep

We have extended the doorstep. It is currently covered in well fixed and sound quarry tiles. Can I fix granite tiles over the top? If so is there any specific method/adhesive? ..... or am I betterto strip them off and start again?

Just for interest and to help someone else who may be stuck.......

You can tile over quarry tiles. Just treat as concrete and whackit on.
