Halstead combi boiler

by Big Len » Mon Mar 31, 2008 9:03 am

Hello to all Hope you can help.

We have a Halstead combination boiler that is at least 17 years old - still going strong only played up once, but now we have to have the temperature up as far as it will go to get hot water - but its not as hot as it should be even then.

The central heating is working fine - sometimes when the rads are off and we run a bath they start to heat up as well.

We were thinking of getting a new boiler in late summer and would like this old one to stagger on for a few more months any suggestions.

Thanks

SEEMS LIKELY TO BE A DIVERTER VALVE PROBLEM!

Could be a fault with the diverter - especially if your radiators are heating up when you run a bath.

Run the hot tap and feel the central heating flow - if it's hot, replacing the diverter, or stripping down, cleaning and replacing all moving parts should fix the fault.
