Heating Radiators - Several Column Radiators That Just Don't get hot?

by GeoffB » Wed Jan 28, 2015 4:56 pm

I have normal size rad's which are heating ok, however I also have five or six column rad's (2000 x 400) which i cannot get hot. At best they are warm but no better. They are all on max heat and they have been bled, twice! Also the thermostat is in another room which is much cooler which again appears to make no difference.

Any ideas would be helpful.

Hi GeoffB

Sounds like a lack of water flow. Could be any number of causes. The first thing to try is system balance. Do these rads get hot if the others are turned off ?

Haven't tried turning off other rads, as over three floors there is too many!

If it's a problem turning a few rads off, a DIY system balance is going to be out of the question. I think you need some professional help.
