Help Needed to Repair Sticking Double Glazing Fanights and Handles

by lazerbeam » Thu Apr 14, 2016 5:27 pm

I have two current double glazing problems I really need advice on. First one both the fanlight Windows on my double glazed French Windows have suddenly decided they no longer want to open and have become permantly stuck closed any advice welcome. Second on the double glazed front door, I think it might be called the latch striker the bit that goes in and out when you operate the handles seem to be forever getting stuck if you operate the handles a few times it pops back out or you can pull it out with your finger neither are ideal every time you go in and out. Once again any advice welcome on how I can rectify this problem.

on your first issue just seems like the locking mechanism has broke on the fan lights that's why they are staying shut , will need repair specialist to sort out they are tricky to do .
your front door issue the strike catch that is sticking in can be removed it has a small screw on it put some grease in the hole and on strike plate then just put back in turn handle a few times this should do the trick hope this is of some help
