Help! No Certificate for Double Glazing

by yiyi » Fri Mar 14, 2008 4:22 pm

Hello everyone - joined today desperate for answers.

Post 2002 I had 2 double glazed windows and 2 double glazed french doors installed in my house. I'm in the middle of selling it and today I received a call from my solicitor asking for the certificates of guarantee for the windows and doors.

I dont have them - worse - I dont have a clue who installed them. Has anyone else been in this situation and if so what on earth did you do?

Hi Yiyi

I believe from a double glazing sales person that you can contact your local council building services, and they will come out to inspect and issue a certificate.
This service is not free, and I do not know what each council would charge.
