Help please, 75 yrs old oap, no heating. Freezing

Our greenstar 24i system is 2yrs old and worked perfectly until a month ago. Suddenly stopped, now works very intermittently and getting worse. The fitters have gone bust and the new co do not want to know - they have serviced boiler but won't look at anything else. WBosch (5 year service agreement - apparently covers boiler only) say the boiler is working fine BUT could be Dayton RF thermostat or Valves.
Green light on receiver and intermittent red light - sometimes just flashes once - other times flashes several times as per documentation, room thermo had batteries changed and seemed to be ok after a couple of days but problem is now getting worse.
Stops and starts at whim. Does not seem to affect hot water.
Is there any way of excluding problem between thermostat/receiver and sticking valves or any other possible cause.
This system cost nearly £4k and cannot afford open ended additional expense. We thought it would see us out.

Not a major expense to have the RF temperature control disconnected from the boiler control to prove boiler is functioning normally. If the boiler does operate OK the you are looking at replacing the RF controller.

Look at page 29 of manufacturers instructions, it's shows you where the link should be if you do not have a room stat. Re-instate link - if all works ok then it's the room stat at fault.
