help with featherboarding a wooden framed out house thingy!

Post by trudy » Sat Aug 23, 2008 11:11 am

ok ok i am blonde, despite most of your judgemental thoughts im doing fairly well building a huge wooden framed out house on the back.
the wooden frame is in place and corrigated clear roofing is also in place.
a window is fitted, wall struts in place.
so i am featherboarding the outside of wall.
so how much over lap between each peice of feather board?
start from bottom or top?

cheers for any help!

Hi Trudy,

In my head I'd got you as a brunette (joking)

Start a bottom and over lap at least 11/2" or 40mm. An extra precaution I might do would be line the frame out with sarcin felt (roofing felt) horizontally overlapped starting at bottom.
