Help with hot water pressure please.

by jimllwaxit » Fri Sep 10, 2010 7:27 pm

I recently helped a friend fit a new bathroom suite inc taps etc. In the process of this we put in a new hot water cylinder (direct) (and immersion heater).
On the old cylinder the feed to the hot water basin & bath used to come out of the top of the tank and bend down to floor level immediately beside the cylinder.
In the change it now comes out horizontally for around 30" before bending down to floor.
He has very low pressure from bath and sink hot water taps, could the change above have caused this?
If not can anyone suggest a remedy??
The hot pressure was fine before we "fixed" the new bathroom!!

Thanks in advance? :-)

One possibility is the new horizontal pipe has resulted in an airlock which is restricting the flow. Where does the expansion pipe connect to the feed as this would normally allow the trapped air to escape.
