help with toilet please

hello everyone i hav just bought my first house n decided to change the old toilet 4 a close coupling one but ive fit the cistern to the pan as the instructions show but it keeps leaking the cistern will not pull tight i even replaced the original fittings with sum new ones ( rubber ring metal plate and all the bolts but i tighten as much as i can but it still leaks and the cistern stays loose it just will not go tight had a plumber round to look at it but he had same problem and was meant to be coming back but now he says hes to busy but couldnt explain why it wudnt work hope someone on here can help thankyou

Well it's difficult to diagnose from a distance, but suggest you use silicone sealant on the big rubber ring that sits between the pan and cistern.

Does the toilet only leak when it's flushed? if not and its a steady drip, the leak is from elsewhere.

The cistern does not necessarily sit totally tight on the pan. Have you mounted all the parts in the correct order?
