    Homebase aircon/dehumidifier 253797 - room temp query

    Postby gbrowne » Wed Nov 07, 2012 12:22 pm

I have recently acquired a Homebase aircon/dehumidifier type 253797 and I was wondering if anyone else has one and can comment on how the room temp setting works.

My problem is with the 'room temperature' setting on the control panel. As described in the manual, it normally shows the current room temperature, but by clicking up/down buttons next to it you can select a different temperature from 16C to 35C. After a moment the display returns to showing the room temp.

However, it doesn't seem to matter what temp I select, the unit just blows freezing cold air into the room and warm moist air out of the window. I have selected 'Dry' mode and the compressor is definitely running.

Is this usual behaviour please and what is the function of the set room temp facility ?
Grateful for any pointers. The unit is not new, so there could be a fault I suppose.

    Cheers,
    Geoff.
