Hot tap in kitchen runs slow after new boiler??

    Postby chrismetallica1 » Sun Nov 25, 2012 3:28 pm

    Hi All,
Im totally stumped on this one. I had a new boiler fitted on Friday a vaillant eco Pro 28. The guy came round fitted it tested my radiators and taps all seemed well. Until I tried to use the kitchen tap. For some reason the hot warter runs very slow. Like a trickle and doesnt get hot. I cant work out what is causing it any ideas ?

    Regards

    Chris

Have you changed from a tank/cylinder to a combi?

The tap shouldn't be a problem as a tap meant for low pressure systems will work on high pressure systems it's vice versa where you have problems.

If you have changed to a mains pressure supply from tank then this may have dislodged something - there be a blockage or the tap washer/jumper may have come off.

If you're a DIYer, turn off the cold water supply to the boiler and open the hot taps this will drain the pipework, strip the tap and check the washer etc there may also be a filter depending on the type of tap.

We had a tank, They took that all out and fitted a combi boiler. I will strip the tap and have a look
