Hot Water but no central heating

Hi,

When I switch central heating only on, the pump starts up, the boiler kicks in and I get heating.

However, if I then switch the hot water on as well, I get hot water but then the rads go cold!

I've two motorised valves which seem to activate.

Any thoughts. I have a pumped system.
