I have a powermax 185 boiler which broke down recently. The engineers got it going again and the boiler itself is working fine as we have hot water however there is no heat getting to the radiatiors.
There is an external heat exchanger which they think is blocked up with sludge but the part is now obselote and british gas and the manufacturer do not have any.
Is there anywhere else I might be able to get the part or is it possible to fit a different heat exchanger to the system. Seemingly it is part of a retrofit kit and is sited externally from the boiler.
They have said that the only option is a new boiler
Any ideas woudl be much appreciated
