Hot Water Problem

by Steve28861 » Tue May 29, 2007 3:20 pm

When the boiler is set to hot water only, the boiler comes on for a few minutes, then the boiler trips out, if i leave for a few minutes, pop the button back in the boiler fires up and repeats this process.

Eventually the water is hot enough and the boiler trip button stays in. I have replaced the tank thermostat, but the problem still exists

The Central heating works fine

Can anyone help?

what type of sytem is it, gravity hot water or pumped ? sounds like the heat isn't getting away from the boiler, may be airlocked.

Thanks for the reply.

The system is pumped, it has been suggested that the tank could be scaled up causing the hot water not to 'dicipate' therefore returning the hot water back to the bioler?

If it is airlocked how can i remove the airlock?
