by pom1964 » Fri Sep 07, 2007 9:37 am

I have a gas boiler(glowworm hideaway) that heats both the radiators & water at the moment i have the timer for hot water too come on twice a day 05.00 to 08.00 & 15.30 till 21.00, is it more cost efficient to have it on continuous or timed as i have it at the moment

Definately timed is a more cost effective way, the average heating system will heat up a hot water cylinder in less than half an hour and if its well insulated it will retain some heat between on times.
