hot water to bath tap

Post by davdon » Sat Mar 15, 2008 3:46 pm

Hi there
This is a problem that has got worse over months and now it's driving me mad.
The water to our bath tap does not run hot any more. At one time if we turned the tap so it wasn't quite on full the water would be hot. More recently the tap needed to be turned to drizzling for the water to be hot, but filling a bath could take half an hour.
This afternoon I haven't managed to run a bath at all, the water doesn't stay hot even when drizzling.
The shower works OK, although it doesn't get that hot, it's acceptable.
Is there anything we can do ourselves, or do we to get a plumber?
Any help would be greatly appreceiated.

Probably not a fault with the tap - more likely to be a fault with the boiler, is it a combi boiler ? a diaphragm service kit may be required.

What's the make and model of boiler ?

Hi there,
Thank you for getting back to me.
It is a combi boiler, Potterton Performa 28.

I answered this question this morning, but as it hasn't come up yet (4.45pm) I'm assuming I did something wrong.
The boiler is a Potterton Performa 28.
