Hotpoint dc 27 stopped working

My dishwasher stopped working but sounds as though its trying to pump water out the machine.The prewash light flashes while this is happening .This is at the start of the cycle and there is no water inside the machine to be pumped out
Any ideas folks ( thanks in advance )

Had same problem with mine seems it was not quite level and sensor found water pulled out ran it level pushed back OK.
