Hotpoint fridge/freezer temperature regulating

I have a Hotpoint fridge/freezer model HM315NI and I find that even with the temperature regulating knob at lowest position 1 , the temperature in the fridge and the freezer are a little to low and I was wondering if it was possible to adjust by removing the knob adjustment and cover ?
