How do I treat a new wood door ?

by Dave the Cave » Wed Apr 02, 2008 2:42 am

Can anyone advise me how to treat a new Hemlock (similar to pine) untreated door. I do not want any kind of varnished finish and also want to retain the light colour as much as possible.
Ideally I want a treatment that I can re-paint over the top every year or two that will soak into the wood?
Any advice appreciated.
