How to Fix Heavy Wooden Shelves That are 40cm Deep

Post by nailgun_fodder » Tue Feb 06, 2018 2:43 pm

Hi There,

I have some shelves that are made from two scaffold boards attached together (minus a bit for the joint). They are approx 40cm deep and 4cm thick pine.

I went a looked at some brackets from BandQ, but they are either nasty looking metal things or they are small brackets (black iron brackets are about 18cm deep).

So I think they are not suitable / safe to use.

Originally these shelves where attached between three walls with a ledge running around three of the four sides - they where strong enough to stand on.

But now I want to attach them to a flat wall. I think I probably need to make my own brackets to hang them but I am not really sure what is the best method to use for such a deep shelf. Anyone have any good ideas?

Thanks
