?? How to hold open a loft hatchthat opens up into loft??

Hi,

We have just moved into a house that has a loft conversion. The loft hatch is hinged and opens upwards. However, it is heavy to open, and has no handle to open it from the inside whenyou're up in the loft. I want a way of holding it open while I'm in the loft - would a touch latch work? The hatch is heavy as it is quite large.

If you are OK with DIY search on line for gas struts, you will probably need two.
