I HAVE HOT WATER BUT NO HEATING

by shawn » Wed Jan 14, 2009 4:58 pm

HI the heating didnt come on tuesday evening so i checked the programmer and there was no display,so i changed the 3 amp fuse and i got the display back and both lights came on for the heating and water, but nothing happened until i turned the cylinder stat up and then the boiler sparked up but only for hot water not heating. so i bought another programmer and room stat but i still have the same fault, could it be the two port motorised valve for the heating as the one for the hot water does operate??

shawn,
It's your next thing to try - push the lever over to the open position and see if the heating comes on (you may have to hold the lever hard against the end of the slot for the boiler to operate).

Hi Shawn,

Yep, sounds like the 2 port MV- just change head (motor) to check.
