Illegal Install
Whilst drilling a hole into the cavity from the exterior of the property, i hit a gas pipe that was running along the cavity. It was over a meter to the right of the service box, so i didn't think there would be a problem drilling there. Is it illegal to run gas pipes along the cavity? I thought they could only pass straight through??

You thought correctly, a gas pipe can only be run straight through (or as near straight as is practically possible) a cavity wall. Graham.
