installing celing mounted lights

by jblw » Thu Mar 04, 2010 11:40 pm

Hi everybody

Thanks in advance to taking the time to read my questions,

I am building a garden room, i want to use ceiling lights, maybe LED, open to other suggestions.

The construction of the room is flat roof timber frame, with a 6 inch gap between roof and ceiling, but i will have 100mm kingspan insulation.

Can i use this type of lighting, what are the implication's of heat etc.

Can you dim LED, would love some recommendation.

I will again need to run cables what is the recommend routing of cables, again implications of heat build up.

Thanks

jblw,
If its a warm roof construction use fire rated downlighters which take GU10 lamps and fit low energy lamps in them.
If its a cold roof construction you will have to find lights which fit below the ceiling.
end
