Installing electric point in outhouse

by theshedman » Thu Jul 09, 2009 12:19 pm

Hi everyone, I would like to install an electric socket in a outhouse so that I can connect a freezer to it. The outhouse is only 2 metres away from the house and there is a wall going to it that cable could be attatched to. Has anyone got ideas on what I would need to do. Don't suppose I could just run extension lead from kitchen to outhouse. Thanks for any help you can give.

if you want to install a fixed cable it is notifiable work under the part P scheme, so you either need to notify building control before you start or employ a part P registered electrician.

Hi moggy, thanks for the reply. Looks like I will have to get someone in to do it for me then. I have added spurs in the past but not put in exterior points so better have professional to do it. Thanks again.
