    Intermittent tripping

Postby dave howard » Mon Mar 05, 2007 6:03 pm

I recently added an additional flourescent light to an existing lighting
circuit. On most (not all) occasions when the light is switched off the
power cicuit trips! After this happens I can still switch this light on - so I can at least see to switch the power back on!

if the light still works then it is not the flo tha is tripping the circuit, the lighting should not be on a rcd circuit which may have been the problem if it was, but as the light still works then you will need to id the circuit which is tripping ie sockets.
or as i have found once or twice someone has put the whole system ona rcd...this would not be good.
i don;t see this being the case tho because you say the light still works after tripping a circuit...[which one]
