I have a two storey property which has been extended to the side, the full length of the house. The original part of the house has quite low ceilings, so the extension was done with a higher ground floor celiing height and the upstairs bedrooms have internal dormers. I was hoping to turn these into external dormers to create more space in the bedrooms, but the architect I had round told me that it wouldn't be worth it because of the difference in floor heights. Has any one come across any inovative solutions to such problem?
