Internal walls and rising damp advice needed for dpc injection

Postby Mr Len » Sat Jul 16, 2016 8:20 pm

Hi, hope you can help...

Been in our house for a few months now and slowly tackling the issues we knew were to be sorted when we purchased. FUN!!!

Next on the list is what appears to be two walls of damp both on internal walls.

Pictures on the link below of an internal wall between our hall and living room. Outside of the house is all fine.

I removed the radiator weeks ago and no there aren't any leaks at all from that.

Neither have wallpaper on now and was expecting it to dry...it hasn't....

Damp people want to strip the plaster and inject the chemicals but I'm not too sure. Bad idea?

Damp patches do feel sticky and moist but what is causing the issue?? As you can see, an old doorway has been blocked in...maybe the issue?

Thanks for your help!!

Strange how its so damp? the only way to find the cause, is to strip off the plaster and the skirting. I suspect its a leaking pipe.

Thanks for your help!! I have stripped a bit of plaster and the brick under looks to be dry? Plaster was damp and crumbled very very easily.

Pics have been added to the photobucket album...

Im not aware of any pipes running under this part of the house, we are a way from the water supply and waste with radiator pipes all fine and system keeping pressure.

What next??!!

Thanks again!!
