Jammed Stopcock All aspects of plumbing questions and answers, help, tips and information

Hi, i'm having some problems with the stopcock under the sink, when trying to shut the water off its increadibly stiff, so much so that when I tried to tighten it with my hands the slide-on handle has cracked off the spindle. :shock:

I've tried using WD40 on it but its still will not close more than 1-2 turns does anyone have any advice??

turn the water off from outside the house and replace the stop cock
