    kitchen cupboard door adjustment

    Postby goof » Sat Aug 11, 2012 4:43 pm

Having used up all the adjustment on the hinges my door still needs to move towards the hinge edge by about 3 mm. Can one obtain thinner carcase mounting plates?

Hi Geoff, the screw that connects the hinge arm to what you call the mounting plate could be restricting further adjustment if it is too tight, try and loosen it a touch and see if this helps any and then tighten back up.

Your kitchen cabinets will be tight initially when you use it it will become loosen. If still its causing you a problem try opening it closing it for sometime continuously it will become a bit loose but not much.

No solution yet, I still think a thinner mounting plate is the answer, or else I chisel out a 3mm deep recess in carcase end panel and sit the plate into it.
Thanks for all the answers so far.
    Geoff.
