Kitchen cupboard downlights - couple of questions

    Postby chrisparis » Sat Feb 25, 2012 12:19 pm

I have a set of three 20w halogen lamps supplied by Wickes. They come with a plug and a transformer and just plug into a socket.

I want to wire two sets of these but permenantly into a fused unit instead of a double socket with plugs.

Is there anything wrong with doing that? On the information it says the transformer should have a 5amp fuse, but the plugs have a 3amp fuse. What is going on there?

    Thanks
    chrisparis

Get in your part p electrician to advise you.
existing wiring could be verfied to be adequate to connect up fcu by him using appropiate
testgear. As ericmark suggests there is the labc control route paying the appropiate fee
