Kitchen Light causing problems

by crwort » Tue Dec 18, 2007 8:43 am

Hi i have a problem.
I just replaced a kitchen ceiling light (all wires replaced as they were in the original light fitting (3 black to neutral, 1 red to live, and 3red + 1black together)).
The Kitchen light works fine but now the hall and lounge light don't work. I have checked all the connections again to make sure they are tight and proper - and they are!?
I had the hall light switched on during the work (but off at the breaker) but i didn't try the lounge light until i had switched it all back on again.
The other downstairs light still works ok as do all the upstairs lights.

Any advise gladly welcome.

Problem sorted.
Tested all cables into kitchen to find out which ones were which.
Power in, Switch, Dining Room and Hall.
After that i found that it was a broken black wire between the kitchen and hall about an inch up from the light fitting neutral terminal.
Repaired and re-wired now all lights work ok.
