by mcjford » Tue Dec 20, 2011 6:21 pm

I am putting in a 4790 bi fold door and need to find a cavity insulated lintel to fit the opening which would be 5090 minimum does anyone know where i can get one ?If not is there another way of bridging the gap to building regs ie steel beams etc?
Thanks

search CATNIC lintols they will calculate the the load and supply to your specifications.

You could also speak to your local steel fabricators. They usually employ an in house engineer who can calculate a steel beam size. This will usually be cheaper than any of the big lintol manufacturers such as Catnic, IG, Keystone, etc,.

However, you may have to install a cavity tray above to prevent damp penetration.
