lathe & plaster
hi, i am renovateing an old property with lathe and plaster ceilings can i plasterboard directly over, fixing to the exiting joists and rafters or will it be advisable to remove with a great deal of mess the old lathe ceilings. thanks.
Hi, plasterboard over the ceiling without remove old plaster is okay and as you have mention less mess. You need to identify location of joist prior to fixing boards up, you'll also need a longer screw (60mmish) also take care of location of cables and pipework.
Good with it KB
