Laying Vinyl Sheet Flooring Over Bitumen Based Paint

Post by Zanna » Wed Nov 29, 2017 9:00 pm

Seems I've been an idiot. A small patch of damp was coming through the DPM of our concrete floor in the bathroom. I have painted the bathroom floor with blackjack DPM and am due to have vinyl laid over it in a few days. is this going to be OK?

I've read reviews where it says it's fine, and some have said it isn't. I'm really scared that the fitters are going to refuse to do it.

The floor is really tacky/sticky. Is this going to be a problem? Is there something I can paint on it to stop it being sticky so it's easier for the fitters to use.

Any quick replies would be really helpful. I'm really worried I've stuffed up big time.
