Laying wooden floor planks on conrete (not t&g)

Hoping someone can help with this problem.

I have managed to get enough wooden floor planks from a friend to lay in my front room, the only problem is that it's a concrete floor.

I have a few ideas but not sure the best way to secure them. My thoughts are plug and screw each plank directly into the concrete or glue down large sheets of wood then nail the planks to the sheets.

These ideas could be completely wrong so I thought I'd ask the experts...you.
