Lead mains pipe.

:( Can anybody help me out I had my old lead mains pipe disconnected several years ago it is now leaking, I have already flatened and bent the end but after 2 years I have had to dig it up again and as it has split on the sides is there a more permanant solution for sealing this old lead pipe.
I have access to the mains tap to turn the main water supply off.
