Light sensor needs replacing on MK IP56 outdoor switch

Post by ANDYSUE » Sun Feb 14, 2010 2:50 pm

Our drive is lit by a light sensitive switch housed in a standard MK IP56 outdoor housing. It has now started playing up, and I am really struggling to find a replacement online. The switch housing itself seem fine, it' jus the light sensor that seems to be faulty.

Does anyone have a source to find such a thing?I have tried Screwfix, Maplins and Wickes' websites

Help!

Hi, your not trying!!
I just typed in google 'mk dawn to dusk switch' and it says both B&Q and Screwfix stock them!
However instead of trying DIY sheds or electronic suppliers like Maplin you should visit an electrical supplier, most keep dusk to dawn switches of various makes, most cheaper than MK.
QVS do some listed as 'photoelectric cells' all less than £20,
see DN TWSW, or ST NM3000W which turns on at dusk and off at a set time later during the night so cheaper to run,
